WHO WE ARE
The Asian Association of Chesterfield & North Derbyshire was founded in 1982, with the aim of promoting the culture, education, health and welfare of Asian people residing in Chesterfield and North Derbyshire. Since 2009, the Asian Centre at Hasland, Chesterfield remains a focal point.
LANGUAGE CLASSES
Hindi and Punjabi language classes are held at the Association and students are taught basic spoken and written language. Lessons explore Indian heritage and culture which enrich the learning experience. BHANGRA DANCE CLASSES
Bhangra is a traditional folk dance from the Punjab region of India. The dance is associated primarily with the spring harvest which is celebrated with dancing and singing.These classes are funded by DCC Action Grant.
The classes are open to children and adults on Sundays from 15:00 -17:00 at the Association.
Fees: £20 per month.

VIOLIN CLASSES
Violin classes are held on second and fourth Saturday of every month at the Association from 15:00 – 16:00.
Tatiana Shrimpton is an experienced music teacher.
Fees: £10 per class (to be paid monthly)

FILM CLUB
Film club is open to all members. It is an informal get-together with food to watch South Asian and Indian/Bollywood films at the Association on last Thursday of every month.
Contribution: £2 per person.
